Coaching packages

Coaching packages

by neillthew
Cru has developed a range of three coaching packages for leaders and teams. We believe in transparency and choice. We want to make it easy and straight-forward for potential and existing clients to have choices about how they tailor Cru to their organisational and leaders’ growth needs.

The packages below give you a flavour of the different interventions and impact that Cru can have with your organisation AND we can tailor packages to precisely suit your needs if what you read below does not fit perfectly with your current context, objectives and desired outcomes.

The coaching packages are purely for one-on-one coaching. We have not included our fees for our time spent getting to know the organisation, agreeing performance measures and stakeholder management. We provide bespoke costings for the orientation, set up and progress check-in phases of a team engagement. Naturally, we agree all fees before starting work.

Adapt

Adapt is a 3-session package. The outcomes from Aware are:

  • a clear understanding of the dynamics that are keeping the leader from changing their behaviour
  • some initial experimentation to try on, explore, and test new behaviours.

Session content

  1. Making the Immunity Map
  2. Self Observations and Test Design
  3. Test Debrief and next steps

Adapt is suitable for:

  • organisations that want to dip their toe in the water by experiencing 1) whether Cru might be right for their organisation or 2) whether a leader is ready for the Cru approach
  • leaders who want to explore and understand their personal barriers to change before making a commitment to a more stretching and time-intensive coaching journey.

Grow

Grow is a 6-session package with one progress review taking place 3 months after the 6th session.

The outcomes from Grow are:

  • a clear understanding of the dynamics that are keeping the leader from changing their behaviour
  • exercises to deepen the understanding and awareness of the dynamic that is stopping change from happening. The depth that the exercises provide creates significant extra leverage and power to overturn the mind-set that is causing the leader to be immune to change.
  • experimentation to try on, explore, and test a new mind-set and its impact on behaviour change
  • a follow-up survey to inform the leader whether their colleagues are seeing a change in behaviour and progress on the Improvement Goal.

Session content:

  1. Making the Immunity Map
  2. Honing the Immunity Map
  3. Self Observations
  4. Continuum of Progress or Biography plus Test 1 Design
  5. Test 1 Debrief and Test 2 Design
  6. Test 2 Debrief and Hooks and Releases

Grow is suitable for:

  • organisations and leaders facing complex or overwhelming new challenges that training, mentoring, and skills-acquisition will not solve.
  • organisations that recognise that a different and more stretching approach to leader development is needed
  • leaders who know that aspects of their current leadership style are their career-limiting Achilles heel.
  • Leaders have accepted that unless they listen to feedback from colleagues and higher-ups, and act to change their behaviour, they will cause their career to stall.
  • leaders in conflict that is felt to be deep-rooted and cannot be addressed simply by training, mentoring or current leadership development offerings.

Achieve

Achieve is the premium package, comprising 12 sessions with two progress reviews after 3 and 6 months.

The outcomes from Achieve are:

  1. a clear understanding of the dynamics that are keeping the leader from changing their behaviour
  2. exercises to deepen the understanding and awareness of the dynamic that is stopping change from happening. The depth that the exercises provide creates significant extra leverage and power to overturn the mind-set that is causing the leader to be immune to change.
  3. extensive experimentation to try on, explore, and test a new mind-set and its impact on behaviour change
  4. the leader becoming “consciously released” from their immunity to change
  5. reporting back from colleagues throughout he process AND formally at the 3 and 6 month reviews, of significant progress in behaviour change and the achievement of the desired improvement goal, set out at the start of the coaching process

Session content:

  1. Making the Immunity Map
  2. Honing the Immunity Map
  3. Continuum of Progress
  4. Self Observations
  5. Biography and Map Updating
  6. Test 1 Design
  7. Test 2 Debrief and Test 2 Design
  8. Test 2 Debrief and Test 3 Design
  9. Test 3 Debrief and Test 4 Design
  10. Test 4 Debrief and Hooks and Releases

Achieve is suitable for:

  • organisations who realise that their people really are their key assets and to invest in leaders’ growth means an upgrading of their people assets and the value they can bring to the business
  • organisations that are in a war for talent and have found that they cannot recruit good talent but need to really grow and stretch their leaders, or else their talent pipeline will dry up
  • leaders that have a behavioural challenge that seems to need almost a “personality-transplant” to grow into a mind-set that goes contrary to their normal way of thinking. Leaders in this situation need to be motivated to change and be buying into the need and rewards that getting better at their improvement goal will bring.
  • Leaders who need to step up to difficult adaptive challenges and grow in their complexity

Packages for teams

A typical team engagement starts with each team member having an individual experience of the first step in the Immunity to Change coaching arc: X ray map making. Individual map making is then followed by the team coming together and working to create its team X-ray Map. Individual and team coaching sessions follow the creation of the individual and team maps.

Team events tend to vary according to the client. Factors that cause the need for variation are:

  • Size of the team
  • Nature of the Improvement Goal
  • Importance of achieving the Improvement Goal
  • Budget available per team member
  • Diagnostic assessments or surveys of colleagues
  • Time-frame

During the event design process, if we see opportunities or limitations that will occur due to the client’s budget or timeframe, we share our thoughts on these with the client. We hope that this approach promotes transparency and mutual accountability and agreed outcomes. In the case of limitations occurring, limitations are often a great catalyst for generating creative solutions.

The reasons for this approach are :-

  • Individuals experience the value of the Cru approach in a very direct and personal way, causing them to buy into the approach before they come together with their colleagues.
  • The team members come to the team event with a sense of anticipation about what the team will discover and how it will grow
  • By working on their own, individual maps, team members experience the attitude and approach that will be needed when they work with their colleagues on the team map.
